Lynx Registration FAQ
About the Lynx
What is Los Gatos Lynx Girls Lacrosse? We're a volunteer-run, nonprofit girls lacrosse program based at Los Gatos High School. We're in our second year, and this spring we're offering four divisions: U6, U8, U10, and the new U12. Our goal is simple: help girls play, grow, and have fun, and grow the game in the South Bay.
Who can join? Any girl in the right age range, with or without experience. Most of our players are brand new to lacrosse. Families join us from Los Gatos, San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and nearby.
Does my daughter need lacrosse experience? Not at all. Our coaches start with the basics: holding a stick, catching, throwing, and having fun. Every player starts somewhere.

Some girls play up a division. If you think that's a fit for your daughter, you’re welcome to register her for the older division.
Why do U8, U10, and U12 practice twice a week? We do this on purpose. We've found that the more time girls have a stick in their hands, the faster they get comfortable with the game and the more fun they have playing it.
Where are practices? At Los Gatos High School, Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Will we have to travel for games? Yes. Please plan for it. Even though we're a recreational program, there aren't many girls lacrosse teams in our area yet. To give our players real games, we travel to play other programs in places like Menlo Park, Mountain View, Burlingame, San Francisco, Pleasanton, and Livermore. Carpooling with other Lynx families is a great way to share the driving.
Why aren't there more local games? Girls lacrosse is still growing in the South Bay. Our long-term goal is to grow the game so much that there are many teams right here that can play each other. We're not there yet, and every new player gets us closer. Please help us by telling friends, classmates, and teammates about the Lynx.
Coaches and volunteers
Who coaches the teams? Our coaching staff includes LGHS coaches and varsity players, college coaches and former players, and volunteer parents. We're continuing to build out our coaching roster.
Is the program run by volunteers? Yes. The Lynx is entirely volunteer-led, and we'd love for more parents to get involved.
Do I need to know lacrosse to volunteer? No. Our high school and college players and coaches handle the lacrosse coaching. What we need most are parents on the sidelines helping manage practices and game days: organizing the team, keeping things running on schedule, coordinating carpools and communication, and being an extra set of hands. If you can help, even a little, please let us know when you register or email us at losgatoslynx@gmail.com.
Registration
How do I register? Register on SportsEngine: losgatoslynx.sportngin.com/register/form/080234577
Is a USA Lacrosse membership required? Yes. Every player needs a current USA Lacrosse membership. You can sign up or renew at usalacrosse.com/membership.
Where do registration fees go? The Lynx isn't for profit. Every dollar goes back into the program and into growing the game: coaches, field time, team gear, and the costs of running a season.

What equipment does my daughter need?
-

Supporting the Lynx
Is the Lynx a registered nonprofit? Yes. Los Gatos Lynx Girls Lacrosse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-3697494) and holds California tax-exempt status.
How else can we help? You can donate or sponsor the program at losgatoslynx.com/support. Donations to a 501(c)(3) are generally tax-deductible; check with your tax advisor about your situation. The best free way to help is to bring a friend. The more girls who play, the faster we grow the game.
I have a question that's not answered here. Email us at losgatoslynx@gmail.com and we'll get back to you.
